F-86 Engine Start Tutorial

Post  skyblazer3 on Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:45 am

For all of you who have ever had trouble starting the Section F8 F-86 Sabre, here is a short tutorial video on the proper startup procedure. We at the FSX Skyblazers love this aircraft, and we hope that many of you will find an appreciation for the F-86, the most widely produced fighter of the free-world. There is also a download link on our website where you can get the SectionF8 Sabre in an easy installer for FSX. Look for that under the SKYBLAZER INFORMATION --> OUR AIRCRAFT section of the new website.

Here is our tutorial video :

Here is a link to our website : http://skyblazers.org/

Please check out our Knowledge Base section, where we will be adding useful information on flying formation in FSX, as well as historical information about the real USAFE Skyblazers.

I havent had trouble starting it, but since you and the FSX Skyblazers know more about this wonderful aircraft, I have been having a problem with the canopy, Its all blacked out. Any Ideas on how to fix this, I have been wanting to fly it but I hate the fact I cant see out the canopy.

Your problem is a problem with the alpha channels. They were designed for FS2004, not FSX. Go to our website at www.Skyblazers.org Under the "FSX SKYBLAZER INFORMATION --> Our Aircraft tab on the left you will find a download link for an FSX ready version. Uninstall the version you have now, download from that link (it is an official download from SectionF8) and install as normal. That package has the fixed alpha channel, as well as a few additional features for FSX.

Go fly this sabre!

It's just about all I fly, the last true fighter.

North American can be proud.

Hmmm, no, I've not heard of them.

I just took the nic from that saying about things that are sketchy and unreliable.

From the interwebs:

fly-by-night
Fig. irresponsible; untrustworthy. (Alludes to a person who sneaks away secretly in the night.) The carpenter we hired was a fly-by-night worker who did a very bad job. You shouldn't deal with a fly-by-night merchant.
McGraw-Hill Dictionary of American Idioms and Phrasal Verbs. © 2002 by The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.

fly-by-night
a fly-by-night person or organization cannot be trusted because they have not been established long, and could leave or close at any time (always before noun) They've opened one of those cheap and nasty fly-by-night stores on the High Street. I'm serious about representing my constituents. I'm not a fly-by-night politician.

Anyone been able to start the aircraft with this tutorial? Anyone finding it useful?

We are working on a formation tutorial now.
