right guys got some big news here some of you may have hear already

MICROSOFT ARE RELEASING A NEW FLIGHT SIMULATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

microsoft have announced that they are creating a new flight simulator it will be called microsoft Flight it will be hosted by windows live, so it should be awesome.. they have one vide out although it is not a represenation of the sim it is just an advertisement. I havent found anything on what will be in this new sim hopefully some good improvements and some new features... im guessing they will either release this late next year or in 2012? maybe earlier not sure.

cant wait for this now

Windows live sucks. I seriously hope they don't screw up this one with so another bad multilayer system. Game spy is alright, but still pretty sad.

ummm fierce thats no ingame video lol, thats just a advertisement video, it will look nothing like that lol just a bit better than fsx i guess

Games for Windows Live has ruined every game that it has shipped with it. It makes gamespy look like the holy grail of netcode.

There will be no offline mode, you will need to always be logged into live, which doesn't sound that bad until you realize that you drop connection to the live service more often than you do looking at the free flight lobby in game spy. If you get kicked from live you get punted from your game - sounds great for formation flying doesn't it?

"Welcome to everyone," I read, pick up your controller and fly! Halo: Flight, by Bungee... I am willing to be dollars to doughnuts that Pilotwings for SNES will have closer flight representation that this game...

Get ready for the game to de-evolve, I hope you all own xbox controllers. Mad

Kevin, I never thought about all that, you're completely right. Unless ms does something amazing and/or changes the multilayer I probably won't buy it. They need a wake up call.

Blue Eagles are working in IL2 as the Virtual Iron Eagles. And as fas as Kevin, he is the #7/ Narrator for The Virtual Blue Angels.

Correct Leland and Josh are flying in IL2 now and have actually been taken under the wings (pun intended) of Billy and Bill from the Iron Eagle Aerobatic team. Leland and Josh are actually part of the Iron Eagle aerobatic team, leland was actually pre-flighting their airplanes at Oshkosh this year. They are working very hard to get the demo solid and hope to make a 2010 show. They chose IL2 because the sim handles more aspects of prop flying than flight some does while at the same time offering far better netcode. I flew with them a couple times and hey are coming along quite nicely - though the prop wash is throwing them for a loop.

i think the best way to look at this is with a good attitude. the xbox part does scare me, although they could be doing nothing at all right? either way, im stoked about this, it cant be any worse than x-plane!!

You knock x-plane, but actually with the right add ons, those airplanes fly AMAZING. Not only that, the airplanes actually look like they are flying. If I remember right the sim actually models airflow over surfaces unlike FS or LOMAC, the result when done well is actually makes for some awesome airplane physics.

That being said your right, at least M$ is doing something with the game.

I love how "Microsoft Flight" is being knocked when there is basically no information on this game at all. Everybody is just assuming what is going to happen on this game. We should just wait until there is more clear cut information and an actual video before we start saying what this game will be like. Smile

yeah i own x-plane 9 and have some addon aircraft for it, but, the planes i had for it were horrible. maybe it was the addons i had that sucked. but i really gave that sim a try more than once and it was disappointing. i will say one thing though, the default scenery textures are amazing in that game!

Its been a while since I flew xplane, but it was some extra or edge add-on I think I was flying - hands down the most aerobaticly (I think I just made up a word) accurate airplane I have ever flown in a sim - it Lomcevaked properly!

Wildcat, I don't think there is anything wrong with people discussing what they think the new game will or will not be? We have some information, we have seen a rendered video, we have the title, and we know it runs in games for windows live. I at least think that thats enough to have a discussion/speculate about for now.

The multiplayer was clunky, and it was like taking a rhino to the prom. I had to wrestle with the installs and kept waiting for over an hour. And my computer isn't crap, it's an 8800 GTX with a pretty beefy dual-core, and yet I suffered.

Now before you call me out as a console*** for advocating the console version of a shooter that could probably be played better on a PC, let me remind you that GAMES FOR WINDOWS is complete bollocks and anyone who says otherwise is either lying or drunk. Now back to some Left 4 Dead...

Just a thought maybe not a valid reason but a reason none the less. It may have something to do with it not being Developed by the ACES team and they decided to go with a new idea. I don't know I'm just guesstimating.
