Its easy, the let on the left with its cans facing us is smaller than the other jet that is farther away, but in contrast the let whos topside is facing us should be the smaller one,, seeing is it is farther away

The reason they look so close is because the photographer is standng way far left of show center, if you notice the smoke trails he is not in the middle but maybe 50-100 yards to the left so from his view it looks far closer than it actually is
